Tuesday marked the end of school and the kids have been busy finding things to do. They love to pull the cushions down from the upstairs room and make forts and landing pads. Here is their latest invention:
One day this week we made playdough which was fun. Sadie loved watching the dough form and was quite the helper. Actually it was all her idea.

Derek entertained himself with the spoons in the dishwasher. Who needs toys?!

The kids have started a nightly ritual of getting their jammas on and going outside to catch the fireflies. Tonight we were out and we saw an owl in our yard. He was beautiful. We watched him for a while and then he came swooping down and flew right in between the kids and I. He had a great wingspan. I love our neighborhood and all the wildlife. I saw a woodpecker the other day, black and white with a red head. He was beautiful too.

Fireflies? I am so jealous. I have very vivid memories of catching fireflies in a jar when we lived in New Jersey.
