Fantastic Family Day!

Our weekend has been full of adventures. Friday night we went to a great local concert put on by "Sweet Potato Pie". They are a Sweet Grass (not as twangy as Blue Grass) band and I visit teach one of the members. It was a perfect evening , sitting outside on a warm spring night listening to the music. Sadie danced the night away with her little friend Julie while Mason romped with the boys. Chris and I enjoyed getting to know some of the other ward members who were there. It is great to be a part of the local community again. We didn't have much of that in Maryland.

Today we went to the Family Fun day put on by Chris work. The theme was NASCAR. There were tons of tents set up for the food and games. Mason enjoyed looking at the real race cars and the kids had their try at changing the tires in the pit stop.

The food was great. We had our lunch backwards by enjoying the ice cream bars first, then getting our lunch, followed by snow cones.

Mason, Chris and Sadie raced cars on the race car track. We played carnival games to earn tokens and redeem prizes. There were bounce houses, bean bag tosses, a giant slide to go down on gunny sacks and a place to make your own racing flag. The kids just loved it. Derek enjoyed sitting on the grass for the first time.

Derek had a lot to say at the end of the day. Please enjoy or ignore Dereks snot coming out of his nose. It is rather funny. I was filming and didn't even notice until reviewing the video. He is such a crazy kid. I realized he is always dressed in a onesie when I post. Today I have a good excuse. We were letting him play with the ice cubes and he got some down in the stroller and got his shorts all wet so we let them dry out a little.

We ended the day by going swimming so that the kids could rinse off and take showers. It was a success!
