Visit from Scooter Grandpa

Can I just say, I LOVE our new house! Our projects have ranged from unloading boxes, rearranging items, getting rid of unwanted items on craigslist, raking up yard debris, trips to the dump and Lowe's and learning how to ride Grandpa's scooter. We enjoyed celebrating Mason's birthday with a visit from Grandpa and getting a new niece all in one weekend! Congratulations to Zach and LaDawn for the addition of Chloe to their family on Friday! We are so excited and happy for you.

Mason's birthday was on Thursday and he enjoyed his breakfast in bed. We celebrated with everything Transformers and he will have a party this weekend with his friends.

Grandpa Johns arrived on Wednesday night and we went out to dinner at Jersey Mike Subs which is the best sandwich shop around. He came loaded with his scooter and also to celebrate Mason's birthday. We had a great weekend with him. He was so helpful in raking up a few years worth of leaves and pine needles in the front yard. He worked hard and was able to clear two truck loads worth. The kids loved jumping on the leaves to make room for more!

Here is the house with a cleared yard. It looks fabulous! Somehow we didn't get a picture of Grandpa who did all the work:) We have a lot of great ideas for the yard. First off will be getting the roof cleared of debris and felling some of the trees.

Just a cute one of Derek at Mason's party. He loved the streamers flying from the ceiling fan.

We went for a walk yesterday at one of the state parks and saw a million gypsy moth caterpillars. Sadie and Mason loved them and had fun playing with them on their hands.

Then we went to get lessons on riding the scooter. I think I did pretty well. Chris is a pro as this wasn't his first time.

Go Katie! I love the picture of you on the scooter. Okay, your house is so gorgeous. I'm a tad bit envious of the beautiful surroundings. The house is situated in a lovely way. Can we come visit you now? How far is your house from Krista's in Columbia? I'm supposed to be heading out that way in August. I have a feeling fall will be beautiful at your house. Sorry, i haven't been checking on your blog. I thought I had yours in my google reader but apparently not. When i checked today there were all these posts! Will you guys be coming out to Oregon for the family reunion? We'd love to see all of you.
