Broken

Saturday April 4 was a crazy day. We were getting ready to drive to Disney World the next day and had a few errands to run and so Mason and I went to finish up last minute shopping. Wouldn't you know it, not 2 miles from our house I get into a car accident. Completely my fault, the other driver crashed into our rear passenger side just behind the door (where Mason was sitting) and then I rolled into another car. Just like that, you blink, and everything changes. What a blessing that no one was seriously injured. The driver of the other car had both airbags deploy which caused him to have some burns or allergic reaction on his arms, but other than that, we were all safe. Chris came right away and went to work, checking the car, taking all our personal belongings out and they towed it away. Not 2 hours earlier we had washed and vacuumed out our cars and were telling each other how much we loved "Power" and what a great car it had been for us. It had just turned over 90,000 miles and was still running great. How sad for it to be crushed and taken away. Now that we are back from vacation, we are going car shopping. At least that is a little bit fun. I'm sure there will be a post soon about that.

Well, we did get to finish our errands and left for our trip on time. Mason had been coming home every day with dirty socks and we couldn't figure out what was going on. When we were at Target shopping, we looked at his crocks and this is what we found:

No wonder this kid was having a hard time keeping his socks clean. Good thing we were already at the store and could pick up some new ones.

We picked up a rental van the next day and were on the road!

That happened to Nathan with his tennis shoes. They were only 4 months old and his socks were so gross when I would do the wash it was as if he was playing outside in stocking feet. His shoes were down in the entry way and I happened to glance in them and saw the tile on the floor. Part of me goes to the "what the heck why didn't he tell me his shoes were like this- these shoes should have lasted much longer than this - and the never failing - how did I not know he had worn through his shoes, what kind of mom am I?"
Can totally relate to this one.
How was the vacation?

I am so glad you and the kids are safe from the accident and that the others were okay too. That's why we have insurance, huh? So was Disney World way better than Disneyland? I've heard that it is tons better and my girls would love to go but I can't justify it when we have a place to stay in Cali and can go to Disneyland way cheaper. It's already expensive enough. Looks like a fabulous vacation.
