Ant and Fly Armies

There's nothing like being forced to clean your kitchen. Ever since we have returned from Alaska we have had fruit flies and teeny tiny ants marching around our kitchen counters. They are both pretty amazing creatures, attacking from out of nowhere and there seems to be an endless supply of them. I suppose this is forcing us into a habit of not leaving any dirty dishes around, and I mean none, but boy is it annoying.

We had a great plane flight home. Derek wins the ultimate baby award as he was a little angel the whole way. We flew the red eye (we being myself and the kids) flight and the kids slept for most of the 4 hours of that flight. Then we had a quick stop in Seattle where we rode the sky tram to the N gates. Mason thought that was the best. We hopped on our next flight to Dallas without incident. Derek slept for a good part of that flight and when we arrived in Dallas we had a few hours to spend. We got lunch and donuts for the kids. Then the kids played in one of the waiting areas. Now when my kids are tired, they get loud and boy were they loud. Sadie and Mason play a game called "hide from the monster baby". This involves running and "hiding" from Derek. The kids try and run to different areas of the room before Derek spots them. Derek chases them around...well in the airport Derek was really tired by this point and he just wanted to make some noise. With Sadie and Mason wanting him to chase them and Derek thinking it was great fun he was louder than ever. I figured it was better in the airport than on the airplane. All 3 kids slept the last flight. Derek was asleep before we took off and didn't wake up until I was putting him in the stroller, ready to go and see Chris.

So we're back and we had a fabulous trip. Thanks to everyone who made it great! We were pleasantly surprised when we got back to have our friends here from Virginia Beach. Sadie and Mason loved playing with you Jacklyn and Natalie. We can't wait for your next visit! Derek is almost walking. My little baby is growing up too fast. He toddles back and forth between furniture and has made it all the way across the room. In some ways I am very excited, but I don't want my baby to grow up yet.

We are excited to have Uncle Luke here tomorrow!

Good luck with the pesky tiny beasts in the house.

Congrats on the kids sleeping on the planes. Although most passengers are understanding, I am sure it was a relief off of your mind!
