Houses

This week has continued with a search for a house. We have put in an offer on one and anyone who has bought a house knows "the wait" that comes after submitting such a document. We are still eagerly awaiting a response this evening. This has taken up a lot of our energy this week. A funny story today about the house. Our Elder's Quorom came over for a visit tonight and we were talking about the offer on the house and one of them piped up telling us about a house he and his wife were watching and wanting to buy that had been on the market a while. He started to tell us where it was located and named a neighborhood and come to find out, it is the house Chris and I are trying to buy. We had a good laugh.

On the home front, Derek is getting to be quite a talker (more like noise maker). He is experimenting a lot with his voice which usually results in a slobbery mess. He loves his Johnny Jump-up (so do Chris and I). It keeps him entertained for longer periods of time. He is starting to push up on his hands and knees, getting his rump up in the air and his tummy off of the ground (not an easy feat). It won't be long before he is mobile!

Mason gave me a good scare this week. He and Sadie like to play with the neighborhood kids out by the basketball courts, which I can see and check on them from our apartment. I went out looking for Mason one day and couldn't find him. Sadie and I searched for about 15 minutes. Finally I told Sadie to stay with Derek in the apartment while I went to look for him. As I was talking with the managers in the office, Mason came running around the corner with a couple of other boys. He had gone off too far, but was having so much fun! The great thing about this experience was that when I got back, Sadie said, "Mommy, you know what I did? I said a prayer that you would find Mason and he would come home." What great children we have and such simple faith. I gave them both big hugs after that.

While we are enjoying very pleasant 50, 60 even 70 degree weather, some of you are having snowy storms. Maybe we can switch places for a few weeks?! We'd love to have some snow and I'm sure you'd like some pleasant weather. We have discovered we really do like NC winters, but wouldn't mind seeing the white flakes too:)

Okay, i don't check for a few days and wow! I have so much to read. I love the house. It's gorgeous. I can't believe how much space you have. And those trees are amazing. I will gladly trade you our rain and cold for warmer weather. I think it was snow you were wanting though, huh? Well, we have tons in the mountains.
